Security Studies Scholarships
The ECU Security Studies Program has received a generous donation from a former student, which has been converted into scholarships for ECU Security Studies Students.
The Undergraduate Security Studies Program
- 10 scholarships worth $1,000 each
- Eligibility: Security Studies Majors, minimum GPA of 3.0, rising Junior or Senior
- Deadline: January 15, 2025
The Security Studies Study Abroad Scholarship
- 2 scholarships worth $2,000 each
- Eligibility: Graduate or Undergraduate Security Studies students, minimum GPA 3.0, must have been accepted into an ECU Study Abroad program for 2023
- Deadline: January 15, 2025
The Graduate Security Studies Scholarship
- 5 scholarships worth $2,000 each
- Eligibility: incoming MS or Certificate in Security Studies student, minimum UG GPA 3.2
- Additional funding for second year available if a 3.2 GPA is maintained
- The deadline for new students who started the program in Summer Term 2025 or intend to start in Fall Term 2025 is May 9, 2025.The scholarship applications will open on April 1, 2025.

All applicants must submit a 1,500 word essay on the following question:
“After three years of fighting, why is it so difficult to end the Russia-Ukraine and what kind of resolution to the conflict would best ensure a lasting peace?”
Recipients of a scholarship will receive the award in two installments over two semesters during which they have to be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours in each semester.
