Political Science Recognition Ceremony
Political Science Recognition Ceremony
FIRST! Please realize that you have to apply for graduation in order to graduate!
Attending the Political Science Unit Ceremony is a separate process from applying for graduation. Students must apply for graduation online through Pirate Port at least one semester prior to completing the requirements of the degree as stated by the Academic Catalog. Please visit the Office of the Registrar’s graduation web page for deadlines and instructions on applying to graduate.
Second: Please remember there are 2 different ceremonies, University Commencement and the Departmental Recognition Ceremony
University Commencement
Each fall and spring semester the University schedules the main university ceremony.
There will be two in-person University Commencement ceremonies: the first will be at 9:00 AM and the second will be at 4:00 PM on Friday, December 15, 2023, in the Hendrix Theater.
For University Commencement information and to RSVP please click here.
Cap and Gown Orders
Dowdy Students Stores, located in the Main Campus Student Center, is East Carolina University’s official source for graduation regalia, merchandise, and apparel.
Where do I get my cap and gown?
Graduating seniors can order their cap and gown by October 30, 2023, at Dowdy Student Stores.
There is no charge for undergraduates as this cost was built into other student graduation fee. Master’s degree students will pay for their hood if participating in the ceremony.
Departmental Recognition Ceremony
The Department of Political Science usually holds a Recognition Ceremony during the fall and spring semester of each academic year to recognize our graduates. You may visit this page for updates concerning the ceremony and to RSVP for the event.
The College/ Departmental Recognition Ceremony will take place in the Main Campus Student Center Ballroom on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 7 pm.
