BA/ BS in Multidisciplinary Studies: Security Studies Degree Requirements

The program consists of 40 hours General Education courses, 15 hours of Security Studies core courses, 24 hours of Security Studies elective courses, 3 hours in cognate courses, and a completed Minor (18 or 24 hours) or a second Major.
Your core courses are:
- SECS 1000 – Introduction to Security Studies (usually offered in Fall Term only)
- CRIM 1000 – Introduction to Criminal Justice (usually offered in Fall and Spring Term)
- POLS 2020 – Introduction to International Relations (usually offered in Fall and Spring Term)

As a BA/ BS student you must choose eight elective courses from a list of courses with at least four different prefixes and with no more than twelve hours from any one prefix counting toward this requirement. You have a foreign language requirement for the BA, but no foreign language requirement for the BS.
Minor in Security Studies Degree Requirements
The Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Minor in Security Studies 18 semester hours of course work, with 6 hours of core requirements and 12 hours of electives, across a number of academic disciplines.
